The Boy Choir of the Carolinas was founded in 1994. The Boy Choir of the Carolinas, a choral group for young men between the ages of 8 and 18, is a non-profit that develops vocal talents in a disciplined ensemble. David R. White, formerly the Music Director of Florida's Singing Sons Boychoir and Artistic Director of the Atlanta Boy Choir, founded the Boy Choir of the Carolinas in Greenville, South Carolina.

In 1997 the Boy Choir participated in the International Choir Festival in Prague, Czech Republic. In 1998, the Boy Choir was selected to participate in Americafest, an international festival of male choirs, held in Collegeville, Minnesota.
