Mozart Knabenchor - Austria
In 1956, commemorating the 200th birthday of W. A. Mozart, the
Mozart Boys Choir (Mozart Saengerknaben) was founded and soon became
famous and celebrated all over the world. But after the death of the
founder 1995 the society decided to stop all activities. Peter Lang, at
that time their choirmaster, decided - together with the parents of the
boys - to create a new boys choir, named Amadeus Knabenchor, Wein.
Legal reasons did not allow to use the old name for several years, but
the tradition was kept on. Finally in 2006 it was possible to change
back to Mozart Knabenchor. Within the last few years the choir
recorded various CDs and performed at festivals in Vienna and in
Lucerne together with José Carreras (broadcasted in TV and
radio) and with Placido Domingo at the Christmas in Vienna-concert
which was transmitted worldwide on TV and recorded for video and CD. In
2006 we were engaged to perform the Christmas Concert of the Italian
Broadasting RAI at the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi together with
the argentine tenor Josè Cura and the Orchestra Symphonica della
RAI.
