Karl-Friedrich Beringer studied at the 'Meistersinger' conservatory in Nuremberg. He studied piano under Erich Appel. While still a student he founded the Amadeus Chorus and orchestra. Between 1976 and 1978 he was the artistic director of the International festival of Youth Choirs in Bayreuth. In 1978 he was appointed director of the Windsbacher Knabenchor. In 1986 he was awarded a 'Bundesverdienstkreuz' for his musical
achievements. Recently there has been some criticism of his harsh teaching
methods with the boys but this has largely blown over.
